  Hello from Scotland - it has been ages....

  well how the devil is everyone?

  i have not been here for a long time........totally lost track of what is going on in jw land, apart from the little bits i hear from family members still in.

  (they say everything is swell and that armageddon is just round the corner).... :).was hearing that anniesland congregation in glasgow has been (or is about to be) disbanded.

  Ah well, I was hoping for the financial meltdown - but perhaps just willful thinking.
  
  Though I did find the annual report in another thread, quite a few countries with a decline, including the UK.
  Jehovah must be clearing out the chaff before the big Arma.
  
  I have not had a Jdub at the door for years, though I do see the cart things in the city center streets quite regular.

  I have not been here for a long time........totally lost track of what is going on in JW land, apart from the little bits I hear from family members still in. (They say everything is swell and that Armageddon is just round the corner).... :).
  
  Was hearing that Anniesland congregation in Glasgow has been (or is about to be) disbanded. That is one of the oldest congs in the area.
  I have heard of a number of young ones leaving in local congs.

  Any chance of a quick summary update on current state of affairs?

  Is the WT org going bust?

  Did JWs have growth in the latest annual report?
  

  As for me and my wife, we have not been to a meeting for about 8 and a half years. :) and have never looked back.

  Do you still believe in God?

  i never thought i would admit it, but i don't.

  i might superstitiously have some kind of doubt but digging a bit deeper in my heart i really don't believe in god.

  as a human i could never just sit and watch people be tortured, live years of abuse, suffer from illness and disabilities and all the other awful things people have to endure day after day without doing something about it.

  I always find it funny when someone says "evolution is a fact".... Which evolution are you referring to?

  There are so many different types, versions, opinions and conlusions...

  Its a bit like saying "religion" is the truth.... Which one...?

  I am leaving the JW's . I am alone and scared. Advice and help needed please

  i am sorry that on my first post i am asking for help and advice but i am at my wits end.

  i have been brought up a witness all my life and it is all i know.

  i am an ex-elder and pioneer and i don't know anybody outside of the congregation.. i have been unhappy for so long and wanted to leave.

  Hi scared and lonely.

  When I left (faded) it was by far the most difficult time in my life - put a strain on my marriage for a while.
  (I was an elder - and the full Elder to fade took a while, a lot of planning and a house move to achieve it!)
  
  Family kept there distance for a while, my wife kept going to meetings (only for 6 months then followed me out :))
  I lost all of my JW friends.
  There is no doubt that the transition from being "in" to being "out" is very difficult............. but.......!

  I am so proud of myself for doing it - and you know why? Because it was the right thing to do - on every level.
  As time went on I found a new mindset / a new world view / a new excitement for life in this world.
  I also found new friends....... in time.

  There are no quick and easy answers for this - be confident and proud of your decision and prove to those still in that you made the correct decision by living a happy and full life.
  

  Oh - and be patient - new friends will come with time. You may feel alone and desperate, we fully understand, but hang in there.... it will work out in the end - we leavers are the proof....

  :)

  OH - and ignore the idiots on this forum who have been less than helpful, clearly have no idea what your situation is...

  I believe that death of the body is not the end for us.

  And I feel much evidence supports this conclusion.

  the un membership.

  the way 1914 was calculated from pyramid measurements.

  I felt depressed, emotional and confused. But all was replaced (eventually!) with a feeling of freedom, joy and elation.

  Life after JW land is great - but to be fair it can take a while to get there...
